The Amite County Volunteer Fire Department is dedicated to providing dependable safety services to our citizens and visitors in a responsive fashion. As a team, we will strive to minimize losses and suffering through emergency service delivery, public education, public information, building inspections, fire investigations, and community service activities.
The mission of the Fire Coordinator is to enhance and improve overall fire safety in Amite County by providing staff services such as training, fire investigation, fire prevention programs, technical support (including hazardous materials incident mitigation), and public relations for the fire departments of Amite County and all Amite County departments
